Data and Methodology

Dataset
NHANES 2017-March 2020 Pre-Pandemic ( NHANES 2017-2020 2020 , Survey-weighted percentiles from full MEC sample)
Survey years
2017-2020
Sample size

Reference population
US civilian non-institutionalized females aged 60-69 from NHANES 2017-March 2020. Includes the full population (not restricted to healthy individuals) to reflect the population distribution.
Exclusion criteria
  • Missing total cholesterol measurement (LBXTC)
  • Missing HDL cholesterol measurement (LBDHDD)
  • Missing or zero MEC sample weight (WTMEC)
  • Age outside 60-69 range
Notes
Percentiles computed using the combined pre-pandemic MEC weight (WTMECPRP). Non-HDL cholesterol is not a published NHANES variable: it is computed for each participant as total cholesterol minus HDL cholesterol (LBXTC minus LBDHDD) before weighting, never by subtracting published percentiles.
